Mrs. Mada Jeanne McKnight Floyd, age 82, of Forrest City, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013.
Mrs. Floyd was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Andrew Franklin McKnight and Ester Rose French McKnight. She was a retired Forrest City School District teacher and librarian where she served for 25 years and received her master’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas at the age of 60. Mrs. Floyd was also a member of First Baptist Church and was a past president of the Jaycettes. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Junior Auxiliary.
Mrs. Floyd is survived by her son, Terry Floyd of Little Rock; a daughter Tracey Finch of Dumas; a brother, Hugh McKnight of Little Rock; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Floyd; a son, Tommy Floyd; a sister, Lee Gates and a grandson.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Floyd will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Pine Crest Cemetery in Alexander under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas.
The family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Arkansas.
