Colt festival begins tonight

Rain or shine, Colt Pioneer Days is scheduled to begin this evening and continue on Saturday at the William Stone House in Colt.
Walter Meals, a member of the Colt Community Development Corporation, said some adjustments may have to be made due to the forecast, but the attractions that draw people to the annual festival will go on as planned.
Pioneer Days features gospel singing, historic displays and craft booths. Meals said if it is raining, the plan is to move the music to the front porch of the Stone House. Canopies will be set up on the front lawn to give people a break from the weather. Those attending are reminded to bring lawn chairs.
There will be gospel singing this evening, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and chili will be served at the Snack Shack. On Saturday, events will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the featured meal at the Snack Shack will be beans and cornbread.
