Residents reminded to display flag

An American flag is included in today’s Times-Herald that we hope our readers will display in honor of Patriot Day tomorrow.
Patriot Day occurs on Sept. 11 each year in memory of the nearly 3,000 people killed in the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Penn.
On Tuesday, American flags will be flown at half-staff at the White House and on all U.S. government buildings and establishments throughout the world, and Americans are encouraged to display their flags as well.
Patriot Day is not a federal holiday; schools and businesses remain open in observance of the occasion.
