Seuss celebration

Many area students returned to school today after the winter storm that has kept them home this week, including those attending Central Elementary School. The students were planning to celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America this week, but the events have been postponed until next week. Monday will feature hat day, students are encouraged to wear crazy socks on Tuesday, wear red, black and white for the Cat in the Hat on Wednesday and dress as a Dr. Seuss character on Thursday. Pajama day was held today as scheduled, but will also be held next Friday as well. Several kindergarten students pose with an inflatable birthday cake this morning to say “Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!” The students, front row from left, are: Laney Guzman, Daviun Harris, Demoris Drake and Dalilah Boyd; and back row, Tianna Lee and Madison Jones.
