Parents and visitors will find a new security monitoring system at the front entrance of Central Elementary School when classes resume this fall. The system was purchased in part with a grant from Walmart. It will feature a 2,000-pound magnet that clamps the front door shut unless it is released by controls inside the office. There will also be an intercom link and camera that will allow office staff to identify visitors. Dennis Gremard, left, and Dale Gallion, of May Security in Jonesboro, work to install the magnet this morning.
