Help along the way

Fawn Marie Wiech and Gus, short for Gustaf, her two-year old pit bull and traveling companion, recently found themselves stranded in Forrest City after experiencing car trouble in Interstate 40. Wiech and Gus set up a temporary camp outside of the Circle N, located on North Washington, after being rescued and driven to the store by who Wiech called "some really kind people." Through the help from several Forrest City good samaritans, Wiech was able to get the part she needed to repair her car and have it installed as well as receiving cash donations from several passers-by who stopped and talked with her. Wiech said she was traveling from Colorado to Virginia to be with her mother for Mother's Day. Photo by Fred Conley
