It’s probably safe to assume that everyone, including myself, has thought about traveling back in time at one point or another in their lifetime. We all have our reasons. Perhaps there is a moment in your past that you have always wanted to relive, or something you wish you would have done differently. Perhaps there is a period in history you would have liked to experience.

Varner: Safety is key as students return to school

Summer is coming to an end for students in surrounding school districts, as classes for both the Forrest City and Palestine-Wheatley school districts begin on Monday, Aug. 14. With the new school year quickly approaching, officials with the Forrest City Police Department are encouraging both students and parents to review back-to-school safety precautions.

KIPP students to begin school Wednesday

KIPP Delta Forrest City College Preparatory School will welcome back returning students on Wednesday, Aug. 9. The next day, on Thursday, Aug. 10, the school will host “bring a friend” to school day.

Arkansas rice could be sent to China soon

Arkansas rice exports could soon be heading to China as a result of an agreement with the foreign government and the the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Gov. Asa Hutchinson applauded the news last month, while some in the agriculture industry worry that the process might take longer than what is anticipated.
