Planting the seeds

Donya Washington, with the Forrest City Parks and Recreation Department, plants seeds in a garden behind the Larry S. Bryant Multi-purpose and Wellness Center. According to Parks and Recreation Director Kenneth Taylor, several winter vegetables are being planted that will be donated to the St. Francis County Food Pantry and the Senior Citizens Center when harvested. The garden is part of an effort to encourage area residents to make healthier food choices through local gardening. Some of the produce will also available to city residents and center patrons.
