Cornflower is also known as Bachelor button, blue cap or Bluebottle. While pretty, it is also a strong invasive, rampant weed which many gardeners introduce as an ornamental plant. The cornflower plant is moderately toxic and can cause harm whether it’s touched or eaten by mistake. The flower's color is so distinctive that it has colors named after it. In the past, it was often grown as a grass weed in cornfields, hence the name cornflower.
