Lady Mustangs honored: Four Forrest City Lady Mustang basketball players were honored Tuesday, earning postseason awards. The four, from left, are: Bookita Vaughen, Fareedah Washington, Cassandra Jackson and Kesha Stovall. Washington, a senior and Jackson, a junior, were both named to the 6A-East Conference First Team while Vaughen, a junior and Stovall, a senior, were named to the 6A-East All-Conference Second team. Jackson was named to the All-State Team as well as earning a spot on the Class 6A All Tournament team. The Lady Mustangs finished the season at 17-11 and qualified for the Class 6A state tournament as the conference’s fourth seed. Jackson led the Lady Mustangs with 15.5 points per game, 11 rebounds and shot 58 percent from the field. Washington scored 12.5 points per game during the year, averaged eight rebounds per game and shot 40 percent from the floor. Vaughen averaged eight points per game, two rebounds and shot 40 percent from the floor while Stovall averaged 7.5 points per game with five rebounds and shot 44 percent from the field.
