Playful pup

Sometimes all a man’s best friend needs is a soccer ball for entertainment. This young dog was seen enjoying a fun-filled romp with a soccer ball along Rosser Street. The dog pushed the ball from one side of the road to the other and gave chase once the ball began to roll down a slight incline. Photo by Fred Conley.

Ending the year
Testing canners

A canner testing event was held today at the St. Francis County Extension Office. According to Holly Valentine, Extension Agent-Family and Consumer Science, canners must be tested to ensure that food being canned does not spoil. Valentine also added that while today was set aside as a testing date, canners can be tested at any time at the office in the SFC Courthouse. Valentine is shown testing a canner lid.
