Fun at the Rumble: Miss Arkansas Amber Bennett of Carlisle, seated, signs autographs for Ashley Astin and Maleek Ursery during her appearance Saturday evening at the 10th annual Forrest City Grocery Rumble on the Ridge basketball tournament. Bennett spent about an hour signing autographs and then performed during halftime of the Forrest City-Peabody, La. basketball game.

Cross Country: Forrest City senior Kyle Houston, middle, was named the Stuart Towns Outstanding Cross Country Athlete of the year and was honored Saturday at the Rumble on the Ridge tournament with two plaques. Houston finished third in the state in Class 6A this season and helped lead the Forrest City Cross Country team to their best-ever, fourth-place finish at the state championships. The Mustangs finished third in the 6A-East Conference and were ranked in the top five all season. With Houston are Towns (left) the very first Forrest City cross country athlete and a member of the Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame and Forrest City Cross Country Coach Lewis Etheridge (right). The big plaque will hang in Mustang Arena and each year a new name will be added to the list.
Walking it off: After Thanksgiving, a few brave souls visited the Forrest City Multi-purpose and Wellness Center, trying to work off some of the turkey and dressing from the holiday.
