Election day: Gene and Evelyn Hodges fill out paper ballots this morning at the Forrest City Civic Center. Many local and statewide races will be decided today, and election officials are hoping that things will run smoothly once the polls close. Early voting ended Monday with 2,323 people casting ballots before today’s general election. As of noon today, voters had cast 457 votes in the four Forrest City wards. Photo by David Nichol.

Getting it ready: Clifton Martin of Forrest City Plumbing works at the new Crowley’s Ridge Overnight Stable on Newcastle Road. The stable will providing housing for horses belonging to people traveling through the area.
