Tower comes down Tower comes down

The large tower at the former AP&L building on North Washington was taken down yesterday. According to a spokesperson at First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas, which owns the property, the decision to remove the tower was made to improve the looks of the community and to reduce the bank’s liability. Pictured, one of the satellite dishes on the side is taken loose so it can be lowered by a crane. The job is being done by Wallace Tower Specialists out of Franklin. The crane is contracted through Nabholz Construction. Photo by David Nichol.
