Forrest City’s water was
recently named among the best
drinking water in the state.
Several members of the
Forrest City Water Utility
recently attended the Arkansas
Water Conference, which brings
together water professionals,
utility leaders, engineers and
regulators from across the state.
The conference focuses on
education, training, regulatory
updates and sharing best
practices to ensure safe and
reliable water systems. One of
the conference’s highlights is a
drinking water taste contest
where utilities from across
Arkansas submit samples that
are judged on clarity, odor and
taste to recognize the highest
quality drinking water in the
state.
FCWU Director Edward
Gregory said this is the first year
Forrest City has entered the
competition.
“This makes this
achievement even more
meaningful for our team,” said
Gregory. “Placing second in this
contest is a strong testament to
the hard work and dedication
of our entire team. Our team is
committed every day to
providing safe, clean and great
tasting water to our
community.
“We want to thank our staff
for their continued dedication
and our community for their
trust,” Gregory added. “We will
keep working to ensure Forrest
City has water we can all be
proud of.”
Central Arkansas Water won
first place in the competition
and Jonesboro placed third.
