Readers Choice nominations begin April 1

It’s once again time for the annual Times-Herald’sReaders Choice contest, providing an opportunity for people to honor their favorite businesses, services and residents to be named among the best in St. Francis County. Nominations, which is the first phase of the contest, will open on Wednesday, April 1, and continue until midnight on April 15. Only businesses and people within St. Francis County may be nominated to be considered among the best locally. The two-week nomination period will be followed by voting, which opens on Monday, April 20, and continues until midnight on Friday, May 1. The categories for which nominations are being accepted can be found online at the Times-Herald’s website at thnews.com, beginning April 1. The categories include retail, automotive, community, education, financial services, food and dining, health and medical, home services, professional services and more. Only those businesses and people who are nominated will be included in the voting portion of the contest. “When you visit thnews.com, click on the Best of 2026 tab and you will be directed to the nominations portion of the contest,” said Publisher Tamara Johnson. Participants do not have to be subscribers to the online edition to make nominations or vote in the contest. Simply visit thnews.com and following the link to the contest. “This annual promotion is a way to recognize our local businesses and to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Johnson. “If you see a category that does not include one of your favorite businesses or a category to recognize an individual, please add them to the list. We want a good representation of all of our businesses and residents in St. Francis County so that when the voting phase opens they can be recognized for the work they do to serve our communities. “We encourage everyone to vote for your favorites in our county. Help us recognize these businesses for their dedication to our communities and residents,” added Johnson. “We also want to recognize and honor local residents who go above and beyond to serve our communities.” The Times-Herald will publish a special section in late May revealing the winners, as chosen by our readers, for the 2026 SFC Readers’ Choice awards.
