A St. Francis County Jury has sentenced Dr. Sudesh Banaji to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Banaji was convicted Monday of six counts of second-degree sexual assault. He was found not guilty on one count.
The jury sentenced Banaji to prison for one of the six counts and fined him $15,000 for each of the counts, resulting in a $90,000 fine.
Following the jury’s decision, Banaji was taken into custody by deputies with the SFC Sheriff’s Department.
